Dr. Atabakhsh is specially certified to perform sedation dentistry, including I.V. sedation to make the treatment of his patients as comfortable as possible.
During his educational career, Dr. Atabakhsh graduated from UCLA school of dentistry in 1997 where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He was then accepted as a periodontics resident in the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston where he completed his residency training, and graduated in 2002 with a specialty degree in periodontics and a Master of Science degree. Dr. Atabakhsh is a former member of the American Academy of Periodontology.
